1. What We Collect

  We collect your name and email address to process your order and deliver your book. If you create an account, we store your login credentials securely.

• Your child's information

  To create a personalized book, we collect your child's first name, age, physical appearance description, interests, and any other details you voluntarily provide to personalize the story.

• Photos

  If you upload a reference photo of your child, we store it temporarily on our secure servers. It is used solely as a visual reference during illustration generation and is never shared with third parties.

• Payment information

  Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.

• Usage data

  We collect standard web analytics data including pages visited, time spent, and referring sources, through PostHog and similar tools. This data is anonymized and aggregated.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your child's information or photos for advertising. We do not use photos for AI model training.

We retain your order information, including the generated book content, for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Order records may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting and tax compliance purposes. Photos are retained for 90 days maximum as described above.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

StoryMint is intended for adults (parents, guardians, and gift-givers) who create personalized books for the children in their lives. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit children to create accounts, make purchases, or submit their own information.

A child's first name, age, appearance description, interests, and any optional reference photo are provided by the adult placing the order. By submitting this information, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have the consent of the child's parent or legal guardian. We use this information solely to create the personalized book and fulfill the order — never for advertising, profiling, or AI model training. Reference photos are deleted within 90 days (see Section 3).

If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, contact us at hello@storymint.com and we will promptly delete it.
