1. What We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Your name and contact information
We collect your name and email address to process your order and deliver your book. If you create an account, we store your login credentials securely.
Your child's information
To create a personalized book, we collect your child's first name, age, physical appearance description, interests, and any other details you voluntarily provide to personalize the story.
Photos
If you upload a reference photo of your child, we store it temporarily on our secure servers. It is used solely as a visual reference during illustration generation and is never shared with third parties.
Payment information
Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
Usage data
We collect standard web analytics data including pages visited, time spent, and referring sources, through PostHog and similar tools. This data is anonymized and aggregated.
2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your child's information or photos for advertising. We do not use photos for AI model training.
3. Photo Deletion Policy
Your child's photo is deleted 90 days after your order is placed.
This is a firm policy, not a default setting. Once a photo is submitted, it is retained only for the minimum time needed to support any reprints or order-related issues within the 90-day window. After that period, photos are permanently deleted from our storage systems. You may also request early deletion at any time by contacting hello@storymint.com with your order number.
4. Data Retention
We retain your order information, including the generated book content, for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.
Order records may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting and tax compliance purposes. Photos are retained for 90 days maximum as described above.
5. Third Parties
We share limited information with the following service providers, solely to operate the Service:
Stripe
Payment processing. Receives your billing information to charge for orders.
Lulu Direct
Print fulfillment. Receives your book content and shipping address to print and ship physical orders.
Supabase
Database and authentication hosting. Stores your account data and order records on secure infrastructure.
Replicate
AI image generation. Receives illustration prompts (no personal data) to generate book illustrations.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
